Morrisons has launched its very own recipe box, containing the recipes and full ingredients for five meals for a family of four. The family friendly recipes include dishes such as sausage tray bake and mixed bean chilli with wedges; simple yet balanced meals to make from scratch.
Named Five Meals to Feed a Family of Four, the box provides everything needed for evening meals through the working week, with the aim of making dinner time a social family experience. The boxes offer quick and affordable recipes the whole family should enjoy cooking and eating together, and are available with next day or nominated day delivery.
Costing £30, the box works out at just £1.50 per meal.
The supermarket said in the press release that the move came after research released this month showed "an increase in family dinners during lockdown, with shared family mealtimes being cited as positive for mental health and social wellbeing".

Each box contains 22 different products, weighing in at 14kg. Morrisons says the contents work out as lower cost than in-store, even with next day delivery included. Plus, unlike many other recipe boxes, the new launch includes full retail-size packets and products, so you should have ingredients leftover that can be used for other meals outside the plan.
Tessa Callaghan, Head of Food Boxes at Morrisons, said in the press release: "Many of our customers enjoy eating meals as a family and we have seen customers do this more during the pandemic. It can be difficult to constantly cook up new dishes that please everyone. So, we wanted to create a great value box that contained high-quality produce and recipe cards – to make it easier to try new things.”
It's the latest addition to Morrisons' growing list of food boxes, from essentials boxes to occasion ones, gluten-free options to vegan iterations, as well as BBQ and picnic boxes, to name a few.
