We've all been taught not to put ice in our wine, or seen raised eyebrows go up whenever we've snuck a few cubes into our glass. Well, now enjoying your fizz over ice is firmly on-trend, and Aldi's latest launch will help you try it at home for just £6.99.

Bubbles over ice as a a trend has been popularised by wine makers across Europe, according to Aldi, so the supermarket has now formulated a special Ice Cava designed to be enjoyed with ice!

Designed to be served in a large glass with plenty of ice, Aldi’s Jaume Serra is "packed with the sumptuous flavours of stone-fruits, fresh flowers and the powerful aroma of tropical fruits".

Formulated to counteract ice's negative effects, the new tipple is a 'semi seco Cava'. It's a little sweeter and richer than traditional Cava, with an intense, fruity bouquet and fine bubbles, so when combined with ice to create an extra chilled glass of fizz, the flavour promises to be at its best, without being diluted or compromised.

Aldi’s Mistress of Wine, Sam Caporn, said in the release: "This fun and fresh fizz is a fantastic addition to any al fresco dining experience. Whether you choose to serve it in a traditional flute, wine or balloon glass, be generous with the ice cubes – don’t forget to add a handful of fresh berries and some sprigs of mint to garnish too.

"Or for those who want to make their glass even more Instagram-able, add fresh strawberry slices or raspberries to ice cube holders before freezing for a sleek aesthetic.”
