Lidl has announced the return of its bestselling aperitivo, Bitterol, which hit the shelves on Thursday (2 July), just in time for two months of summer spritzing.

Aperitivos have really reached the height of popularity in recent years, with so many of us enjoying an ice cold aperitif on summer nights, or a delicious spritz on sunny afternoons.

Now Bitterol, Lidl's most popular aperitivo, is back. And a total bargain at just £7.99 a bottle.

The orange and herb flavoured aperitivo makes for a delicious-sounding and vibrant cocktail when mixed with Prosecco and a dash of soda to create a classic summer spritz.

The supermarket has also suggested serving its aperitivo as a grown-up 'Bitterol Frosecco' slushie. All you have to is mix two parts Bitterol with two parts Prosecco and one part soda water, before serving over crushed ice in a large wine glass with a sprig of mint.

We're sure you'll agree that both cocktails sound completely delicious!

If you want in on a piece of Italian sunshine right here at home, be sure to pick up a bottle on your next weekly shop. It's only available while stocks last, and we think it's bound to be snapped up quickly.

Bitterol is available now in Lidl stores nationwide whilst stocks last. RRP £7.99.
