Tesco has just launched a new sweet treat that we think people are going to be pretty excited about...
The new Gin and Rhubarb cupcakes have hit the store's shelves as part of the Tesco Finest line, and they sound absolutely delicious. Whether you're a gin fan or not, we bet you're going to want to try these cakes.
With a classic vanilla sponge as their base, each cupcake is carefully filled with gin and rhubarb flavoured sauce before being topped with swirling rhubarb buttercream. The pretty pink cakes are then finished off with rhubarb and gin drizzle, as well as pieces of real freeze-dried rhubarb sprinkled on top.
At just £1.75 a pair, they're a perfect after dinner treat or great with a cup of tea. And the best part of them coming in a pack of two? You won't end up polishing off a whole tray of cupcakes in one go.
If you're living in a larger household though, and two cupcakes aren't going to go very far, the supermarket already sells a large rhubarb and gin celebration cake.
Three layers of Madeira vanilla sponge, sandwiched with rhubarb and gin jam, and a gin flavour soak. Like the cupcakes, it's also topped with buttercream, this time in a pink ombre design with hand-piped flowers and Belgian chocolate sprinkles.
No judgement if you feel the need to sample both. Call it research...
Both the Gin and Rhubarb Cupcakes and Gin and Rhubarb celebration cake are both available now in Tesco stores and online at Tesco.com.
