You can now relive the nostalgic flavours of your childhood with brand new Parma Violet and Drumstick Squashies cupcake kits available at Aldi.
The supermarket chain has just launched the two kits in celebration of National Cupcake Week, as part of its specialbuy range. The kits come complete with a cupcake mix and icing infused with retro Parma Violets or Squashies - and the good news is the sweets are included in the kit as well.
With a retail price of just £1.99, the cupcake kits have already got fans buzzing.
Both Parma Violets and Drumstick Squashies have a loyal following, which isn't surprising given the iconic treats have been around for a while.
Swizzels, the company behind the sweet treats, first launched the Parma Violet flavour in 1946 when it was initially marketed as a breath freshener. Meanwhile, the original Drumstick lolly launched in 1957 and got a new life as part of the award-winning 'Squashies' range in 2012.
This isn't the first time Aldi have launched a creatively flavoured food product. In August, they expanded their award-winning gin range with Didsbury Gin’s Tutti Frutti Gin Liqueur, made in partnership alongside MasterChef champion Simon Wood.
