Everything Maltesers touches turns to food gold, so the news that they're bringing out a white chocolate version of their truffles is music to our ears.

The truffles first launched last year and quickly became a customer favourite - so much so that a new, creamy white chocolate version is coming this year.

They're launching for Christmas, but luckily fans won't have to wait too long to get hold of a pack; according to The Sun, they'll be available from 9 September in Tesco stores, where a 200g pack will be sold for £4.99.

Blogger Mehreen shared a picture of the truffles on Instagram, writing: "@maltesersuk sent me one of the first ever Maltesers white chocolate truffles before they have even released! 🍫 I didn’t realise how popular these were until so many food pages started messaging me! 😂⁣"

Fans are already pretty excited about the launch. One commented: "Woah. The comeback of the White Malteser?! Yes. Please."

Another added: "Oh my gaaaaaaaaaad I'm sooo excited!"

White Maltesers were discontinued a few years ago, and fans were so upset that a petition was started to bring them back. It only got 450 signatures, but clearly the makers were listening and decided to give fans what they've been begging for – just in a slightly different format.

Either way, we can't wait to give these a try.
