Get ready to pinch some salt (or maybe bathe in it), because an etiquette expert has revealed the nine kitchen cupboard items that apparently make you middle class.
For one reason or another, we all love being told what makes us a bit posh. Whether it's unlikely holiday destinations, things from Ikea or even household items, whack the words 'middle class' in the same sentence and people are desperate to know what it means.
Which is where William Hanson, and etiquette and protocol expert, comes in. He tells Cosmopolitan UK that if you have any of the below items in your cupboards or class them as your kitchen essentials, you fall into the middle class bracket:
- Hollandaise in a jar
- Nutribullet
- Nespresso machine
- Shredless marmalade
- Click and lock plastic containers
- Anything from Aldi or Lidl
- Brita filters
- Square plates
- The number of mugs is greater than cups and saucers
While some of these are arguably more attainable than others (Aldi and Lidi, yes, Hollandaise in a jar, no), it's interesting to see what the etiquette expert thinks of as 'middle class'. How do your items rank?
