Knowing how annoying is it when your midst baking or cooking, and you reach for the packet of brown sugar, only to find its all clumped together in one giant, brick-like mound, Prue has divulged her go-to kitchen tip.
The nifty little trick helps to make sure brown sugar doesn't stick together, which is usually the case when the stuff is left unused for periods of time.
Taking to her Instagram page, the cook turned author asked her followers: 'Do you know this great tip?,' before revealing the kitchen hack.
'When brown sugar dries to a concrete block, put it in an airtight container with a lemon, apple or orange. In 24 hours it will be soft and spoonable.'
Fans of the cook were delighted to be given some baking insight from the Great British Bake Off star, flooding her page with thank you messages.
One fan posted: 'yet another great tip from Pru ๐๐ผ [sic],' and another wrote: 'what??! Amazing, Iโve chucked sugar because itโs so hard!!'
A third joked: 'Amazing tip....Iโm tempted to deliberately harden some sugar just to try it out (because Iโm crazy like that ๐).'
Seeing as lemons are pretty cheap, it's certainly one trick we'll be trying at home!
