Cool, crisp and effortless: you won’t stop wearing these white skirts all summer

There’s something about slipping into a white skirt that makes summer dressing feel instantly chic, cool and effortless. I’ll admit, I used to be wary of white – visions of inevitable stains put me right off. But with clever cleaning tricks (thank you, Good Housekeeping!), those worries have vanished and now I can’t stop wearing mine.

It started with a linen one from Zara I picked up on a whim before a holiday. Light, airy and surprisingly flattering, it became the hero piece of my suitcase and then my entire summer wardrobe. Now, I’ve added a crisp cotton version with a drop waist for work. An essential for every wardrobe, this summer staple is the kind of piece you’ll wear and wear and wear, not just this summer, but future ones, too.

White skirts go with everything – genuinely! I’ve worn mine with a tailored waistcoat and barely there sandals to the office, and with a slogan tee and flip-flops at the weekend. It’s minimal, versatile and somehow always looks like I’ve made more effort than I have.
