From an affordable cotton sundress, to a silky shorts suit - what we're wearing for Heatwave Day!
This is how we're styling the heatwave.
How happy are you that August turned up at the start of May? We are beside ourselves with happiness over at Good Housekeeping. Yes, we can have a barbecue! Yes, we can get a gradual tan! But the biggest (and perhaps weirdest) "yes" of all is that we can wear our most loved heatwave clothes a full three months earlier than usual. If yours are in a bag under the stairs, or (in my case) tucked away in a unused suitcase, it's time to pull them out, shake them off and see what you've got.
If you already own a beloved summer sundress with a fruit print, or in a summery colour like geranium red, sunset orange, sunflower yellow or white, you're good to go. But what if your heatwave clothes are stained, need repair or simply need a vibe of '25 refresh? Look no further than this edit because I asked the style-loving members of the Good Housekeeping team what they are buying or wearing for the heatwave, and like excited children it turns out we are all ridiculously well prepared for our moment in the sun.
From Jane Bruton our editor-in-chief whose favorite new B&ash summer dress is on standby for the 27 degree heat, to junior fashion editor Corin Ripley who can't wait to wear her new Nobody's Child white linen jumpsuit, and our deputy editor Natalie Whittle who bought the prettiest (and most affordable) cotton sundress ever from H&M, we are here to share our favourite heatwave clothes with you.
Our tips: choose linen, cotton, silk or viscose to stay cool, and whether its shorts and a shirt, a matching set, or a sundress, keep it loose and relaxed and ensure it's a piece that makes you feel confident and happy. Above all though - enjoy every minute!
