For the announcement of her engagement to Prince William, Kate stepped out in this now-iconic blue wrap dress by Issa. It was an instant sell-out, showing that the Duchess was already making waves as a fashion figure.

For a visit to St Andrew's university where she met William, the Duchess wore a pillar-box red peplum coat, complete with black belt and black leather gloves.

Arguably her most iconic dress to date, Kate’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress was a massive hit around the globe. It sparked a trend in long-sleeved lace wedding dresses and attracted a record number of visitors to Buckingham Palace when it went on display.

Opting for Alexander McQueen again, Kate attended the BAFTA celebrations in LA wearing this pretty pale lilac gown.

For the premiere for James Bond film Spectre, the Duchess wore a bespoke pale blue full-length gown by one of her favourite designers Jenny Packham. The dress, which had a wrap front and keyhole back, was paired with matching pale blue earrings and a sparkly clutch bag.

After the birth of her son Prince George, the Duchess greeted well-wishers in a pale blue dolka dot Jenny Packham dress. Many said the outfit choice was a nod to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, who wore a similar dress when Prince William was born.

For the birth of her daughter, Kate stepped out of the hospital in Jenny Packham again. This time, she chose a buttercup print silk shift dress in yellow and white.

During her royal tour of Australia, the Duchess wore a white and blue floral dress from high street retailer LK Bennett. She finished the look with pointed black stilettos and a matching blue rectangle clutch.

Taking a tips from the Queen’s love of colour-blocking, Kate wore a soft pink top and skirt wool suit from Alexander McQueen. The top featured a deep V-neck and peplum bottom, which she teamed with a pleated, knee-length skirt.

Proving why she’s the queen of recycling, the Duchess wore this leopard print Hobbs dress during both of her pregnancies. It became an instant sell-out after her first appearance in the dress.

For her first royal tour with both Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duchess wore a cerulean blue dress with three quarter sleeves and a wide-open collar. She added a maple lead brooch, an accessory she borrowed from the Queen.

On the second day of the Royal family's Canadian tour, the Duchess stepped out in a gorgeous red and white frock from Alexander McQueen. The dress was covered in a red broderie anglaise design and was customised for the princess by elongating the hem and providing longer sleeves.
