Michelle Yeoh returned to the Oscars red carpet looking more glamorous than ever.

The Everything Everywhere All at Once star arrived at Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre on Sunday, 10 March, in a metallic silver sequin one-shoulder gown, a custom Balenciaga Couture piece, which she elegantly paired with black opera gloves and glittery leaf-shaped earrings designed by Cindy Chao.

Yeoh joins the likes of Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Regina King, and other stars as one of the night's A-list presenters. Her appearance at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony also follows her history-making win at last year’s show, in which she became the first Asian woman to win the Oscar for Actress in a Leading Role.

The accolade recognised her performance as Evelyn Wang in Everything Everywhere All at Once, an epic multiverse action film that chronicles generational divides in Asian-American immigrant families.

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” Yeoh said in her acceptance speech. “This is proof that dreams … do come true. And ladies, don’t let anyone tell you you are ever past your prime.”

More recently, Yeoh has portrayed Eileen “Mama” Sun— the wife of a Taipei crime boss — on Netflix’s recently released The Brothers Sun.

“Every time I take on a role, it has to be different,” she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in January. “I don’t want to be playing the same characters over and over again. You’ll be bored, I’ll be even more bored, and it’s not challenging in that sense. But with Eileen, I have not played a character like this [before], where a mother has sacrificed so much. She has to go down so low to be able to come back up again, so that she could save at least one of her children.”
