Tight swimming trunks, leather trousers and Crocs are among the country's most hated fashion pieces, according to a new YouGov poll.

The study, published by the BBC, was based on 3,227 participants. Speedos came top of the list of the UK's most reviled clothing items; an impressive 74 per cent of women said that they disliked the tight trunks, with only 13 per cent saying that they were keen on them.

“Our results show that some things really are better left to the imagination," said Matthew Smith of YouGov. “No matter how ready men’s beach bodies are this summer, they might not make too many friends if they stride across the sand in a pair of Speedos.”
