England's rugby team had a royal guest present when they played at the Stade de Marseille in France this weekend (Sunday 15 October), during the Rugby World Cup. The Princess of Wales was spotted in the crowds supporting the England team. A dedicated patron of England's Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, Kate graced the match wearing elegant, classic tailoring.
The Princess was cheering from the stadium crowds in Marseille, France, as England faced Fiji in the quarter-final of the Rugby World Cup. Prince William and Prince George also joined the crowds for the match, and all three royals met with players in the dressing room to celebrate the win.
Kate assumed the esteemed role of patron of England's Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in February 2022, as chosen by the late Queen Elizabeth II herself.
This wasn't Kate’s first venture into the rugby arena. Just a month earlier, she uplifted England's spirits at a match against Argentina. Then, England triumphed with a commanding 27-10 victory.
This time around, Kate opted for her tried-and-true Zara white boucle double-breasted blazer with gold buttons — a piece she's sported in various hues, on multiple occasions. She paired the blazer with softly flared black trousers and added a touch of refined glamour by casually draping a black Chanel bag over her arm, worn with her sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring.
We recently witnessed the Princess of Wales' spirited competitive side in action. Just a few days ago, she enthusiastically participated in a Rugby League Inclusivity Day in Hull, during which she played a game of wheelchair rugby with the athletes. The event, organised by Hull FC and the University of Hull, coincided with the United Kingdom's National Inclusion Week from 25 September until 1 October.
