Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan dazzled on the Barbie pink carpet at the film's European premiere in London's Leicester Square last night (12 July).
The actress stars as Diplomat Barbie in the highly anticipated film, which hits theatres on 21 July.
For the occasion, the actress embraced her inner Barbie in a custom dress with a special meaning behind it. The star sat down with British Vogue at the premiere to reveal her look was based on her character in the film, who was inspired by the Sparkle Eyes Barbie — a doll that Nicola cherished in her childhood.
The custom TENCEL™️ x Wiederhoeft dress was crafted from a sustainable fabric. The breathtaking, silver corseted gown is covered with Swarovski glass crystals, a nod to Sparkle Eyes Barbie's diamond eyes.
For Nicola, creating a dress that was as sustainable as possible was key. She told British Vogue: "I think people can have a perception of what sustainable fabrics or sustainable clothing looks like... Sustainable fashion can mean something amazing." We couldn't agree more!
For the premiere, Nicola even dyed her hair red to match that of her character in the film. With her red locks in soft waves and a statement winged liner, her entire look screams Hollywood glamour, and we love it.
Nicola joined fellow Barbie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa and director Greta Gerwig on the pink carpet for a group photograph with the rest of the cast.
