Princess Anne nodded to her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II with her choice of jewellery at Royal Ascot on Wednesday (21 June).
The Princess Royal was attending the Royal Ascot horse racing event with other members of the Royal Family, and was spotted in a triple row of pearls necklace and droplet earrings; a favourite combination of the late Queen.
For the occasion, Princess Anne wore a turquoise button-up dress with white structured cardigan over a chic, wide-brim hat.
To accessorise, she wore her pearls and a pair of droplet earrings. While the necklace is identical to Queen Elizabeth’s most-worn piece (which was a gift from her grandfather, King George V), Princess Anne’s earrings are a slightly more delicate take on the Queen Mary Button Earrings, which her mother wore on so many occasions.
The Queen Mary Button Earrings consist of a pearl and a diamond stud and were paired with Queen Elizabeth II’s trusty triple row of pearls necklace, which she wore on most official outings in her later years.
This year’s Royal Ascot is the first since Her Majesty passed away, so Princess Anne’s nod to her mother through her jewellery is a sentimental touch.
Also attending the event were The King and Queen, who were spotted on the balcony enjoying the action of the day alongside the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall, also arrived at Ascot with her husband, Mike Tindall. Zara looked stunning in a navy midi dress with a wrap-around bodice and puff shoulders, which she paired with a green asymmetric hat.
