Cate Blanchett looked incredible in a velvet jumpsuit as she stepped out on the red carpet yesterday (1 September).

Cate is currently at the 79th Venice Film Festival and was seen attending the premiere of drama film, Tár, which she also stars in.

For the premiere, Cate was the very picture of elegance in a black velvet jumpsuit, which was spectacularly adorned with florals. The jumpsuit is reported to be a piece from Schiaparelli Haute Couture, designed by Daniel Roseberry.

Cate's jumpsuit is the definition of chic. It takes advantage of a corsetry-inspired top, paired with wide-leg, slightly flared trousers to make for a flattering and beautiful silhouette. What's more, the floral detailing certainly gave her look a 'wow' factor, giving a pop of colour to her otherwise all black outfit.

The actress opted for a hair and makeup look that perfectly matched her stunning clothing choice. She wore her signature, blonde hair in a wavy style and side-parting, perfectly capturing the stylish bob look that is so on-trend at the moment. For her makeup, she opted for a slightly bold eye with black eyeliner, which she paired with a pop of coral/pink blush and a pink lip.

To accessorise, the star opted for subtle, round-shaped earrings and wore some rings on her fingers, too.
