The Duchess of Cambridge looked chic in a stunning pink suit as she marked one year since the founding of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The Duchess was at the Royal Institute yesterday (17 June) to host a round table on the project, and discuss its work around development in the initial years of children's lives.

In a post on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's instagram account, Kate said that the event was, "another opportunity to highlight the unique importance of the first five years and the significant impact it has on our later life outcomes."

She explained that research conducted through the Royal Foundation Centre, "shows that the importance of the early years is underestimated, and, despite what the science is now telling us, we know that only a minority of people understand the critical importance of the first five years of a child’s life."

While the Duchess admitted that, "this can be a complex issue," she said that, "we have the opportunity to help shape the future."

To attend the important event, Kate opted for a chic two-piece suit in pastel pink by British design house Alexander McQueen.

During his visit, he was gifted three personalised football shirts, one for each Cambridge child, which listed their names and ages on the back.
