The Duchess of Cambridge presented a special award yesterday (4 May) on behalf of the Queen.
The Duchess attended the Design Museum in London to present The Queen Elizabeth II Award for Design to this year’s winner, Saul Nash.
To present the prize, Kate took to the stage wearing a stunning aqua green dress featuring a belted waistline and bow-tied sleeves. The textured dress finished just below the knee and is by London-based British-Canadian designer Edeline Lee (£785).
The Duchess accessorised her look with turquoise closed-toe court shoe heels and a pair of statement earrings. The gold earrings were a chainmail design in a deep crescent shape and Kate also carried a small clutch bag to the event.
The special design prize presented by the Duchess has been awarded each year since 2018, when the Queen first appeared at London Fashion Week.
According to a post on the Royal Family’s official social media, “the award aims to provide continuing recognition of the cultural and trade role the British design and fashion industry has played, and continues to play, throughout Her Majesty's reign.”
This year’s prize went to Saul Nash, a British-Guyanese designer who is “redefining how we look at luxury menswear and sportswear through his work," according to the post.
A short video compilation of the event was shared to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Instagram account in which Kate said that, “the display of creativity and work of the many talented designers supported by [British Fashion Council] was inspiring,” adding, “Well done to all those nominated.”
We’ve rounded up some of our favourite blue and green dresses in similar styles from the high street, which channel the Duchess’ spring-perfect look.
