The Duchess of Cambridge looks stunning in an all-blue ensemble for an important event at Westminster Abbey this afternoon (14 March).

Kate wears a fitted coat dress in royal blue with a matching hat, both of which are trimmed with velvet.

The long sleeve, midi-length dress features two statement pockets and covered buttons down the centre.

The main focal point however, is the stunning velvet collar which matches her bow-trimmed hat.

The dress is by Catherine Walker, a designer Kate wears often and the hat by Lock & Co. She finished the outfit off with a pair of blue, closed-toe stiletto heels from Rupert Sanderson.

Below, we've rounded up some of our favourite long blue coats on the high street which channel Kate's style.

Kate accessorised her look with a matching jewellery set. The diamond and sapphire earrings were especially adapted for Kate and match the Duchess’ engagement ring, both of which once belonged to Princess Diana.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Westminster Abbey service today with her husband, Prince William, which took place in honour of Commonwealth Day.

A caption on the official Royal Family Instagram account explained that, “The Service is the first in-person gathering of the Commonwealth since the start of the pandemic and will reflect Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Year with a special focus on the role that service plays in the lives of people and communities across the Commonwealth.”

The Queen has been head of the Commonwealth since she took to the throne and during her 70 year reign its nations have grown from eight to 54 countries.

The special service at Westminster Abbey takes places every year and Her Majesty is usually in attendance, but this year Prince Charles is taking her place.

In her absence, the Queen has released a personal statement across social media in celebration of, “a modem, vibrant and connected Commonwealth that combines a wealth of history and tradition with the great social, cultural and technological advances of our time.”

Her Majesty said she hopes the Commonwealth nations, “can deepen our resolve to support and serve one another, and endeavour to ensure the Commonwealth remains an influential force for good in our world for many generations to come."

The Queen’s official statement began by addressing her historic reign and pledging her life in service to her royal duty.

"In this year of my Platinum Jubilee, it has given me pleasure to renew the promise I made in 1947, that my life will always be devoted in service.”
