Princess Anne joined primary school children for a tree planting ceremony in honour of the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
The Princess Royal met with the pupil-led eco-council at Watchfield Primary School as they planted a tree to mark the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.
Her Majesty established the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative to leave a lasting legacy, by encouraging individuals and organisations to ‘plant a tree for the jubilee.’
Tree planting season ends at the close of March so it’s currently the prime period for establishing new trees.
Photographs of Princess Anne’s meeting with the primary school children was shared on the official Royal Family Instagram account.
In the photos, the Princess Royal can be seen smiling beside a freshly planted tree, with a spade in hand, alongside three pupils and a staff member.
A caption alongside the images explained that dedicating a tree to the Queen’s Green Canopy is “is just one of the ways you can celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee,” and reminded people “to get involved before the tree planting seasons ends at the end of March.”
For the visit, Princess Anne re-wore a green check coat which she was most recently seen in two weeks ago, during a visit to merchant ships in Southhampton.
