The great and good of the fashion and celebrity worlds came together for the Met Gala in New York and the aim of the game was to serve up some amazing looks channeling the theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion.”

Of course, that brief was a call for sequins, feathers, ruffles and all things extravagant, and the stars in attendance certainly ran with that.

Those who follow Celine and her extravagant style would be forgiven for thinking the ‘camp’ theme was a piece of cake for the singer, but in fact, it was more of a struggle.

That’s because Celine initially misunderstood the Gala’s theme and was planning for something a little more Glastonbury-esque.

“I thought everyone was going to be sleeping together… We’re going to be camping? That’s not my cup of tea,” she told The Cut.

Thankfully, Celine avoided the disaster of turning up with her sleeping bag and flask (although, let’s face it, that would probably have been pretty fabulous, too).

“When I heard camp can be…," Celine said, gesturing at her Oscar de la Renta outfit.

Yep, definitely on brief.
