Our style director goes 'New In' shopping for you – discover her favourites here

This weekend at a Good Housekeeping event at Ragdale Hall Spa in Leicestershire, many of the amazing readers I met were worried that the best summer clothing had been and gone from the shops, and only sale stock was left. If you are in this camp, do not worry another second, because it is not at all true.

While the best things do sell quickly, the cleverest businesses continue to make considered clothing drops right the way into summer. And so it is! In fact, some of summer's best clothes yet have just arrived into stores, and my edit here showcases the very best of the New In sections this week.

I've selected items that look more pricy than their actual cost, and are made with quality natural fabrics that will feel as good as they look to wear - and I would buy every single one of them, if I didn't have my own similar, loved, versions at home already. Like the striped cotton boat-neck midi-dress from Cos (already purchased by a nosy colleague peering over my shoulder while I wrote this) and M&S's brown woven strappy leather ballet pumps; shoes that will work all the way through summer into early autumn.

Other standout pieces include the easy matching shorts and shirt set from Monsoon made from embroidered cotton, with inspiration straight from a vintage tablecloth. Boden's tennis racket 'Verity' skirt will make a fun update for tennis lovers, and if you've just had the calling to buy gingham, Marks & Spencer has a pretty gingham top, and Monsoon an adorable red gingham summer dress both ideal to wear through summer.

My personal favourite are the green and pink striped trousers from & Other Stories, mainly because they match my kitchen. What's yours?
