When it comes to makeup, there’s only a few people we trust to give us tips and pointers for perfecting our look.

And sitting firmly among the top of that list? Lisa Eldridge.

The makeup artist frequently posts clever and informative tutorials on her YouTube channel, and a recent post on fuller pouts really caught our attention.

Explaining that lip sizes constantly change in fashion, Lisa pinpoints fuller lips as being the current go-to within beauty.

As she has a smaller bottom lip, Lisa relies on makeup to help her achieve a fuller pout and so, she decided to show how she creates one instantly.

Firstly, Lisa reaches for her Kiko Scrub & Peel Wipes, £4.70, explaining that not only does it take off dead skin, but it also plumps up the lips. Once she’s run the exfoliating wipe all over the lips, she follows up with lip balm and blots it with tissue to avoid a slippery finish.

Next, Lisa picks up a matte red lipstick (the shade she is using here is Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Isabella, £25.50) and follows ‘the natural lip line’, before blotting the lips again.

To create larger-looking lips, Lisa then uses a MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry, £13. She explains that her lips finish before the outer edge of her mouth, and so she fills in the lips up to the outside point.

While filling in the lips, Lisa advises that you constantly step back to take a look at your work as you may notice you’ve gone higher on one side.

But how can you make drawn on lips look natural?

Lisa recommends taking translucent powder on a lip brush, then patting the powder over the area where the edges of your lips meets the lip liner to prevent a shadow forming.

To finish, Lisa recommends creating more volume and fullness by picking a lighter lipstick within the same colour family as your original shade. For this, she opted for the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in Idole 186, £25.50.

She applies this only around the centre of the lips to add a subtle plumping effect, before blending thoroughly.

And there you have it; fuller lips, all with the help of a few products… Genius!
