The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge delighted royal fans on Monday night (25 January) by sharing a special video for Burns Night on their social media accounts.

To mark the annual celebration of the Scottish poet, Will and Kate teamed up with NHS Charities Together to treat staff at NHS Tayside hospital to a traditional Burns Night feast of haggis, neeps and tatties, as a thank you for their ongoing work during the pandemic.

In the short clip, the royal couple shared a lovely message with the key workers at the hospital as they prepared to enjoy their festive lunch.

Prince William began by saying: "We know Burns Night is a special evening for Scots around the world, a time to come together to eat, drink, and to celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns."

The Duchess of Cambridge then added: "Sadly, this year is a little different. And for many of you working on the front line, tonight will be a very different occasion as you work tirelessly through this pandemic to protect the most vulnerable in our society."

Paying tribute to the staff's hard work, Will continued: "We want to say a huge thank you for all of the work you’re doing and the sacrifices you are making. As a token of our appreciation, we’ve teamed up with NHS Charities Together to provide you with a haggis dinner."

Kate then concluded the video message by saying: "We hope you enjoy it and look forward to better times together soon."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked as smart as ever for the video appearance, with Will donning a grey jacket and Kate choosing a very appropriate red tartan dress.

The striking outfit is one we've seen her in before – Kate was pictured in the long-sleeved midi dress by designer Emilia Wickstead at the Queen's Christmas lunch in 2019.

The duchess was also showing off a new lockdown hairdo, with slightly longer-looking locks, worn in a straighter style than the bouncy blow dry she usually favours. Kate completed her Burns Night look with a pair of on-trend gold and pearl earrings by high-end brand Simone Rocha.
