Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped out last night (4 December) for the Queen's Annual Diplomatic Reception, one of the rare events that the Duchess of Cambridge gets to wear a tiara and look every bit the part of a princess.
And in a break from tradition, the Palace has allowed a photographer in the event to capture photos of the royals at it, including a full look at Kate...
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a pale blue, fitted bespoke Jenny Packham gown embellished with crystals along with her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara.
The tiara was given to Princess Diana by the Queen as a wedding gift, and the Duchess has chosen to wear it on several previous occasions.
The yellow ribbon Kate wore is the Royal Family Order, an honour from the Queen that recognises the achievements Kate has made as a working royal. The Duchess first wore it at the state banquet for the King and Queen of the Netherlands in October:
Kate and William had a busy day yesterday, hosting a Christmas party at Kensington Palace in the afternoon for the families and children of those deployed in Cyprus for RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham. Kate wore a Brora sweater and Emilia Wickstead skirt there:
Today, Kate and William will fly to Cyprus to meet RAF Akrotiri personnel. They will also make an appearance next Tuesday, where they will visit Evelina London Children’s Hospital and homeless resource centre Passage Charity, Kensington Palace announced last week.
