William and Kate hosted the festive gathering at Kensington Palace for families of deployed military personnel serving in Cyprus.
Kate showed us how to work the tartan trend in a statement midi skirt from one of her favourite designers Emilia Wickstead.
The stylish number has classic pleats, hitting below the knee and featuring a red and black tartan print.
Unsurprisingly, the £1,456 skirt has already sold out in quite a few places online.
