Staying on top of your furry friend’s flea and worm treatment is important both for your pet and for everyone else in your household.

But keeping tabs on when to administer it, and making sure you’re stocked up with the right medication in the right dose at the right time can be a challenge.

If this sounds familiar, subscribing to a service that sends flea treatments for cats and dogs to your door each month, along with worm treatments and even pet treats, could help. These plans mean you always have the right treatment to hand; here’s how three compare.

What do the professionals say?

With so many preventative treatments available to control parasites, the British Veterinary Association (BVA) advises that you consult your vet to find the flea or worm treatment that is best-suited to your pet before signing up to a scheme.

‘Your vet will take into account factors such as the number and range of animals in your home and your pet’s risk profile, temperament and potential exposure to other pests,’ says the BVA’s Daniella Dos Santos. ‘They will also consider your geographical location, as some treatments may not cover all types of parasites endemic to certain parts of the country.’

If you do choose to have your pet’s treatments delivered by post, always double check the treatment you have been sent and the dosage before administering it to your pet.
