Taking care of your Christmas candles

There are a few easy things you can do to get the best out of your Christmas candle this year:

  • Always burn your candle for a couple of hours when first lighting it – this ensures the top layer of wax will fully melt, making for an even burn the next time.
  • Keep the wick trimmed to approximately 5mm. This will stop the candle from burning too quickly and prevent black smoke and soot marks.
  • If your candle comes with a lid, leave it on when you’re not using it to stop dust from settling onto the wax.
