If I had the chance to be Mrs Claus, I'd take on the role in a flash. It may sound crazy, but anyone who knows me will tell you that December is my favourite month of the year.
Christmas is a time to feast and enjoy yourself without feeling guilty about it. It's also the month to plonk yourself down in front of the telly and stream loads of great movies that you’ve missed throughout the year.
Here are my top picks of what to watch on NOW TV with your children, plus the ones to stream while they’re tucked up in bed waiting for Father Christmas.
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
Once the children are asleep, I'm hoping to catch up on a great movie I keep being told about. Bohemian Rhapsody has been at the top of my list for a while now; even more so after it made such an impact at this year's Oscars, taking home four awards, including a Best Actor trophy for Rami Malek.
2. How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
With a mixture of explosive action, medieval spectacles and family-friendly humour, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is a great film to stream when you're all full of Christmas dinner. Set one year on from How To Train Your Dragon 2, voice actors include Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington and Kristen Wiig.
3. Captain Marvel
Oscar winner Brie Larson steps into the lead role for Marvel's first female-led superhero movie. This origin story allows us to see how Captain Marvel was created and the key role she plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It took nearly £800 million at the box office and there’s already a sequel in the works, so stream this one quick to catch up.
4. Dumbo
The familiar Disney classic we all know and love has been given a live action reimagining, courtesy of Tim Burton, so you can be sure this is a fantastical film. The movie stars Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito and Eva Green and follows the powerful impact that a baby elephant with unusually large ears has on the life of everyone around him.
5. Gravity
Speaking of Oscar-winning movies that I missed at the cinema, I can't wait to stream Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The perfect film for a bit of escapism, I'm looking forward to being whisked off to outer space while watching this from the comfort of my own sofa.
6. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
If you haven’t seen The Lego Movie, where have you been? The first movie was a surprisingly big hit with children and adults alike - this sequel is smart, funny, and has some seriously catchy songs, too. Even though it was all done with CGI, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part has the feel of traditional stop motion animation. Amazingly, it fools you into thinking each character really has been made from individual Lego bricks.
