Charlotte Tilbury might be famed for her classically glamorous makeup looks (the artist has made up everyone from Nicole Kidman to Salma Hayek), but the top-selling product in her eponymous line actually sits in the skincare category.
Since launching her global brand almost a decade ago, Charlotte's Magic Cream has been flying off the shelves, beloved for the way it hydrates and preps skin for makeup. (In fact, the formula is based on a cream Tilbury concocted by hand to prep model's skin during Fashion Month.)
However, while Magic Cream is undoubtedly a classic, it’s true that the shea butter and seed oil-based formula can feel a little too rich for the warmer months – and this is exactly where Tilbury’s latest launch comes in.
Available now, Magic Cream Light is a brilliant alternative to the original moisturiser for anyone with oily or combination skin, or for anyone who wants a lighter option to use through the summer.
So, what’s in it? Tilbury’s signature firming peptide complex sits alongside lightweight hydrators – think vitamin E and crambe seed oil – as well as plant-based antioxidants to help ward off damaging pollution particles. Even better, the sun protection has been amped up to a welcome SPF20.
The jasmine scent is the same as the original, as are the famously good skin-smoothing effects, making it perfect for applying under a dewy foundation this summer.
