It’s quite the era for designer makeup, with everyone from Prada to Paco Rabanne expanding into colour cosmetics over the past couple of years. The most recent entrant is Louis Vuitton, whose cosmetics line arrived last month to a jaw-dropping response – partly from Pat McGrath’s stunning creative vision, and partly from the price tag. £120 for a lipstick?!
If that’s a little out of your budget, you’ll be pleased to hear that L’Oréal Paris has just launched a high-end collaboration for a more palatable price, starting from a reasonable £12.99.
Worth it? We think so.
What to read next
To celebrate its legendary Le Défilé show, where celebrity ambassadors like Helen Mirren walked the Paris Fashion Week runway, L’Oréal has teamed up with Mugler to launch a very covetable makeup collab, modelled by Kendall Jenner. A capsule edit of L’Oréal products has been dressed for the occasion in Mugler’s striking aesthetic. It’s strictly limited edition, so it’s one to snap up before it goes.
The individual prices will start from just £12.99, although, for now, the collaboration is available exclusively to buy as bundles on TikTok shop, with six different sets to choose from. The most comprehensive contains five products for £77.95, plus a complimentary Mugler pouch and an iconic Mugler fragrance worth £30 — Alien or Angel, the choice is yours.
If the eyeshadow palette takes your fancy, you’ll have the Warm Toned and Cool Toned bundles to choose from. Each contains four products from the collection, plus a mini Mugler pouch, priced at £60.96.
There are smaller options available, too. The Bold Eye and Lip Bundle, featuring the red lipstick, mascara and eyeliner, costs £41.97, while the Complexion All Stars bundle, including the cushion foundation and highlighter stick, comes in at £35.98.
We’ll also keep an eye on when the products drop individually, as they’re a very affordable way to buy designer makeup!
Soft Glow Cushion: RRP £20.99
The mention of a cushion foundation might transport you back to the noughties, but the compacts have been a staple in K-beauty for years, so their comeback was inevitable. The Mugler cushion delivers on the trend, promising a skin-like (but better) finish with a flattering blurring effect. The buildable formula means you can customise coverage to your liking, whether you want to keep it light for everyday, or go heavier for a full-glam effect.
Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette: RRP £16.99
Why carry around endless eyeshadow shades you’ll never touch? The Spectrum Eyeshadow palette is curated to perfection with 5 creamy, high-pigment colours that glide on effortlessly in a single swipe. Go for an editorial look with the Midnight Collection, packed with cool, daring shades. Or, stick to neutrals with the Nude Collection to bring the runway to your everyday.
Magnetic Radiance Stick: RRP £14.99
Glow in a single swipe? Yes please. This dewy, creamy stick will instantly give you that lit-from-within glow. Available in 2 shades, Cristal, a cool-toned blue shade for something a little more out-there. Or, PVC, a universal neutral shade that will flatter every skin tone.
Augmented Volume Mascara: RRP £13.99
This isn’t your average mascara, expect no clumps, no smudges - just full, thick and dark lashes in a swipe. The formula promises to have holding power for an all-day stay.
Sculptural Felt Liner: RRP £12.99
Ultra-intense black liquid pigment packed into a pen-style liner, designed for ultimate control and razor-sharp precision. The formula is waterproof, resistant and transfer-proof, so you can trust your cat-eye will last all day.
Power Matte Lipstick: RRP £14.99
Matte, intense colour and a powdery finish, the Power Matte lipstick comes in four ‘attitude-packed’ shades, ranging from a vivid red to rich, sophisticated nudes. And don’t be fooled: just because it’s matte doesn’t mean it’s drying. Infused with hyaluronic acid, your lips will feel hydrated and plumped throughout the day.
