Who says age gets to dictate makeup? Certainly not us, and certainly not Dame Helen Mirren, either! From a bold red lip to her bouncy topspin bob, Helen’s constantly redefining what beauty looks like for older women – she’s never one who’s afraid to experiment, and she’s not stopping any time soon.
Last night, Helen took to the streets of the Big Apple, heading to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside her co-star, Pierce Brosnan, ahead of the release of their upcoming Netflix whodunnit movie, The Thursday Murder Club.
And while her new project is on the horizon, it seems an older one seems to be influencing her style – none other than Barbie. Though the Barbie hype of 2023 may have died down, Helen appears to be giving it a much-welcomed revival.
Dressed from head to toe in pink, Helen gave Barbie a run for her money, with a rosy makeup look to match. She looked absolutely gorgeous with an envy-worthy, glowing complexion, paired with a bright pink blush on the apples of her cheeks, which added a rosy, radiant flush to her face.
Oh, but the pink didn’t stop there. To match, she wore a dusting of pretty pink eyeshadow across her lids, alongside a slightly deeper pink hue swept across her lower lash line to bring depth to the look. The eyeshadow was paired with a swipe of black eyeliner, and of course, a lashing of mascara to make her eyes truly pop. Obviously, the look wouldn’t have been complete without a pink lip, too – she opted for a pearlescent hot pink lipstick, tying the whole look together.
Whilst at first glance, pink may feel like a bold choice, surprisingly, it’s a universally flattering colour. It can help to bring out the natural flush in your face and add a touch of warmth to your look, making it perfect for those late summer moments.
