Last time we saw her in Cornwall, Eleanor Tomlinson’s Demelza was pregnant with Ross Poldark’s fourth child. Now Eleanor, who shot to fame a decade ago in the beloved BBC series, has returned to Cornwall as a new mum herself, before getting a gorgeous ‘back to work’ makeover.

The actress, who gave birth to her first child in February, shared a sweet photo of herself holding her baby on a beach. She and her husband, Will Owen, have chosen to keep details of their family private, but her beaming smile said all we need to know.

‘Went back to Cornwall for the first time in a very long time 💛’ she wrote in the caption. Aw, nostalgia vibes all round.

A day later, the actress revealed she was returning to work, sharing photos of her post-baby bubble makeover as she got her glam back on for a press day for Audible. ‘Back at it with @victoriabondmakeup for ‘The Return of Ruby Darling’ press 💄’

A series of gorgeous photographs show the actress looking utterly radiant, with an ethereal beauty look that perfectly flatters her delicate features, fair skin and signature tumble of red curls. As one fan commented: ‘Beautiful skin. Glowing. Motherhood agrees with you’

To find out more about Eleanor’s new mum glow, we caught up with her makeup artist, celebrity favourite Victoria Bond on how to do this masterclass in fair-girl beauty. ‘For Eleanor, I like to keep her super clean and modern - her beauty is breathtaking, and too much makeup can spoil that.’ Victoria tells GH.

‘To give Eleanor that gorgeous, luminous glow, I always spend a lot of time prepping the skin. I use quite a few products for this, such as the Chanel Hydra Micro Serum and eye serum, the Lumity Facial Oil and Sisley Paris Hydra Global Serum.’

Taking Eleanor's fair complexion into consideration is key. ‘I like to mix a few foundation shades together. Since she’s pale, it’s really important to get the colour right - you don’t want it to look orange’.

Her touch needs to be as light as the shades, she adds. ‘When it comes to the makeup, as she’s so naturally beautiful, I’ll keep it lightweight. For foundation, I used the Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation, keeping it very minimal’ she says,

Once the glowy base is complete, Victoria brings in some dimension: ‘Since she has a paler skin tone, I don’t like to use bronzer as it can be quite jarring. Instead, to bring a flush of colour to her face, I use a pink blush - for this look I used Westman Atelier's Blush Stick in Coquette. Then, to emphasise her amazing bone structure, I’ll use the Victoria Beckham contour stick in Marble just to give enough shape and shade, creating a shadow.’

To complete the look, Victoria says: ‘She has amazing eyes, so I like to use eyeliner to frame them. I tend to use the black Victoria Beckham eyeliner on the upper waterline to make them pop. Then I’ll top it off with a lengthening mascara, for this look I used the Lancôme lash idole flutter mascara’ she shares. ‘Finally, for lips I tend to go for a nude pink shade, just to bring out the natural shape of her lips’ At just £3, the e.l.f Cream Glide Lip Liner that Victoria used is a steal.
