From This Morning to her latest venture, Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, Alison Hammond consistently brightens our screens with her infectious joy and morning glam. And now? Well, she’s giving us some ultra-sexy, smokey makeup inspiration with a new, Christina Aguilera-approved makeover.
Last night, Alison got glammed up for a night out on the West End, attending the opening night of the anticipated Burlesque musical. The sexy makeover was enough to almost convince us she had joined the cast.
The makeup was masterfully applied by Alison’s go-to MUA, Mikey Phillips - the talent behind her signature gorgeous morning telly looks. Alison’s skin was flawless, looking buttery and airbrushed, with just the right touch of highlight dusted across her cheekbones, browbone and nose. Her look was warmed up with a gorgeous sweep of terracotta blush, applied high on the cheeks to create a clever ‘facelift’ effect.
The real showstopper? The sultry, smoky eye. She wore a flattering, warm, deep brown smokey shade, with a light, shimmery shade in the inner corners, blended seamlessly into darker hues that smoked outward. A sweep of black eyeliner made her eyes pop, finished with big, fluttery lashes for extra drama.
For the final flourish, a matching ombré lip: deep brown liner fading into a lighter centre, all topped off with a high-shine gloss.
And of course, no glam makeup is complete without an equally glam hair-do. Alison’s bob was parted on the side, for the ultimate Hollywood starlet look, then curled into soft waves that framed her face beautifully. A blonde streak sat at the front of her hair for a contrasting pop of edge.
It wasn’t the only bold makeup look on the night. Alison shared a snap of herself posing with the original Burlesque girl herself, Christina Aguilera, who had gone for a bold black lipstick. The singer can be seen puckering up approvingly next to Alison, and we can only hope that lippy inspires a future This Morning look…
Fans were quick to flock to social media, sharing their love for Alison’s makeover, one commenting: ‘You look fabulous Alison’ — and they weren’t alone. Others gushed: ‘Love Alison's makeup, she always looks beautiful’ and ‘Love the colour of your eyeshadow 😍’ - enough said!
It’s no surprise that Alison had an incredible night (you really can’t go wrong when it comes to a musical!). In a video shared by Burlesque on Instagram, Alison is seen waving a ‘Burlesque’ fan, saying: ‘Burlesque was one of my favourite shows I’ve ever seen, I’m not even lying. Hence the fan’.
