Erin Doherty’s work in Adolescence was nothing short of outstanding, but when you’re playing a child psychologist in the most heart-wrenching series of the year, glamour comes very, very low down on the priority list. So it was wonderful to see the award-winning actress swapping gritty drama for a different hard-hitting world – watching the tennis at Wimbledon.

Erin looked beautiful as she spent a sunny day in SW19, watching the action on Centre Court in the company of friends including fellow actress Bella Maclean. Her unremarkable work wardrobe for Adolescence was swapped for a chic three-piece beige suit from Ralph Lauren, but the truly expensive touch came from her beauty glow-up.

While her psychologist character Briony kept her look strictly professional, without a visible trace of makeup, Erin glowed with an elevated daytime beauty look.

Her dark hair was swept off her face, allowing the spotlight to fall on her flawless complexion. Her foundation lent a soft ‘butter skin’ sheen, which created a radiant effect without looking sticky in the London heat. The same finish was extended to her neck and decolletage, giving such a luxe gleam there was no need for any jewellery.

The soft glamour makeup theme continued with a beautifully graduated rosy blusher and matching glossy lip, and the prettiest of daytime smokey eyes. Harsh black tones were not on the invite list; instead neutral tones of taupe and mushroom were blended to give Erin’s eyes the gentlest wisp of definition.

Her makeup artist, A-list favourite Caroline Barnes, shared a close-up of the look, and captioned it: ‘Creamy skin and a smudged taupe eye for the gorgeous ERIN DOHERTY X @ralphlauren for Wimbledon today 🎾’. Game, set and match to Ms Doherty.

Erin isn’t the only celebrity we’ve seen serving a strong glam game at Wimbledon this year so far. A chic-looking Cate Blanchett brought her mum along for a day of tennis, while Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch also kept it a family affair, bringing Abbey’s lookalike daughter Sophie with them. And Judy Murray put in an ace performance at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club with her sunshine yellow tea dress from ME+EM.

Not managed to swing seats for yourself in the stands this year so far? Not to worry – you can recreate the atmosphere with a single spritz of Crush Balls, a new-limited edition perfume that smells uncannily like Wimbledon in an unexpectedly sexy way. Now pass us the strawberries and cream, please.
