It’s been four months since Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus went Instagram official, and it seems that her glamorous style is rubbing off on her new love. The country singer has been known for his, shall we say, rather homespun aesthetic, but he’s undergoing a bit of a man-transformation, if new photos of the pair are anything to go by.
The unlikely couple first unveiled their relationship at Easter and, to begin with, the direction of style travel was flowing in the opposite direction, with Elizabeth shape-shifting into her country & western era.
From cute farm girl plaits to washed-out denim and rustic blouses, she looked ready to join him for a spot of thigh-slapping and line dancing.
Meanwhile, their official red-carpet appearances together have previously been something of a cute mismatch.
While Elizabeth, 60, can always been relied upon for with her va-va-voom glamour, Billy Ray, 63, has looked, dare we say, a bit scruffy in comparison. Cowboy hats and slightly unkempt hair were very much the order of the day when they attended a plush exhibition dinner together in Italy in May.
But how things change! When the pair stepped out last night to promote Elizabeth’s new Channel 4 show, The Inheritance, Billy Ray looked like a new man, with a blow-dry so glossy she could have checked her lippy in it.
The Achy Breaky Heart singer posed with an ultra-sleek new hair look, ironed straight from root to tip, and shinier than a platinum disc. Less country, more Kardashian.
The hair makeover was so gleamy, it even threatened to outshine Elizabeth – no mean feat, considering she was her usual immaculate self. The gorgeous actress and model arrived for the photocall with her signature smokey-eye-plus-nude-glossy lip combination, showing exactly why she’s been the face of Estée Lauder for the past 30 years.
Her hair was styled in glossy, tonged curls; let’s hope she’s been sharing all her intel on heat protection with her beau...
While we can’t know what prompted Billy Ray’s glossy glow-up, it’s not the first time that one of Elizabeth’s boyfriends have polished up their self-care regime. Her relationship with the late Shane Warne led to much chatter after the cricketer adopted a noticeably sleeker appearance, with smooth skin that suggested he’d been dipping into Elizabeth’s Advanced Night Repair serum.
The actress even felt compelled to shut down speculation that she’d packed her boyfriend off for cosmetic interventions, telling her then-Twitter followers that Shane’s appearance was all down to weight loss.
She posted: ‘SW does not wear eye makeup or have an “eye liner tattoo”… his eyes were born that way! Neither does he wear lip gloss fyi hacks in gossip press; he’d prob just given me a kiss & got a bit of mine. And re “looking different”, you try losing 25lbs and see if you do!’
