Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has long been a major source of hair inspiration. From her effortlessly chic low pony to her perfectly pinned twists, no one does a polished up-do quite like her. So when the Royal was pictured wearing her hair in a more relaxed style, we had to do a double-take.
Sophie looked as radiant as ever as she stepped out for an afternoon tea honouring women of distinction at Windsor. Perhaps it was the gorgeous weather, or perhaps she simply fancied a change – but either way, she traded in her usual swept-back style for a voluminous blowout.
With her blonde hair flowing freely in the breeze, falling just past her shoulders, the look gave us serious hair envy. Shorter layers around Sophie’s face added beautiful shaping and texture, glamming up an otherwise simple hairstyle. Her roots had a lifted look, appearing to have been freshly blow-dried upwards for some extra volume and bounce.
The relaxed hairstyle was paired with a fresh-faced makeup look for the ultimate laid-back yet sophisticated look: a light glowy base, with just a hint of brown liner to contrast with her blue eyes, a swipe of mascara and a classic soft pink lip.
Her look was completed with a stunning cerulean blue broderie dress from Aspiga – which the GH team have now dubbed ‘the dress of the summer’ – that, in tandem with the brown liner, made her blue eyes pop.
Sophie’s new style didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who flocked to social media to share their love. One tweeted: ‘I love her longer hair! She looks lovely as always,’ while another put it more simply: ‘Beautiful’. We have to agree – whether her hair is worn up or down, Sophie has a way of looking effortlessly elegant.
