“I’m not shy when it comes to doing the inner work in the quest to feel happy but sometimes just simply getting your hair done really lifts the spirits,” Fearne added.

As well as thanking her stylists, the Happy author also expressed her gratitude to “the lovely black cab driver who dropped me home,” explaining that they had “the most lovely chat about life, mental health and recovery.”

Many of Fearne’s followers agreed with the sentiments in her post.

“It’s not just about the haircut but how it makes you feel that’s important,” wrote one commenter.

“It’s amazing what a good hair cut can do,” added another.

Fearne is not the only one to have been enjoying hitting the salon again after a long break during lockdown.

Loose Women’s Jane Moore revealed her fresh blonde chop on her Instagram page, as did Ruth Langsford.

Ruth also showed off a new manicure and pedicure and confessed her had a facial booked to now that salon’s were reopening.

Lorraine Kelly chose to mark the end of lockdown slightly differently, by sharing her first outing to a pub garden with her daughter Rosie.
