Strictly's Katya Jones goes for "fresh start" with new haircut

Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones has rung in the New Year with a hair transformation.

Clearly embracing the 'new year, new me' vibe, Katya explained that she was going for a "fresh start" to 2020 in a new Instagram post.

Posting a picture of the shorter 'do, the dancer wrote: "Begin as you mean to go on! With best friends and loveliest people who inspire you! P.S. yes I cut my hair. Thank you @glamlox_chloe for a fresh start to a year!"

It comes after a mixed year for Katya, who split from husband and fellow Strictly star Neil Jones – though recently admitted that they are in "no rush" to divorce.

"We have really thought through that decision and we are both in a good place right now," she said of whether they would ever reconcile. "We're good friends. Are we starting divorce proceedings? We haven't got time right now. We're in no rush."

Katya added: "It wasn't an instant decision to split up, it doesn't happen overnight. We were together for 11 years and married for six. I've still got my beautiful ring on."

The dancer has also admitted that things are not awkward backstage between her and Neil, saying: "[It's been] brilliant. Dancing brought us together.

"You always see us talking to each other, helping each other or with Alex [Scott] or Mike [Bushell], or sending each other videos if we need help. People... if they're looking for things, they will always find things. But there's nothing to look for."
