How to crack the pistachio perfume trend - from just £7
Warm, nutty and sweet - we’ve found our scent of the season.
Move over florals; we’re craving something more gourmand, something irresistibly nutty. Sounding delicious? Then you’ll love the latest scent trend that's taking the beauty world by storm: pistachio.
It’s safe to say that the Good Housekeeping team can’t get enough of all things pistachio. First it was double helpings of pistachio chocolate at snack o’clock, then we all started wearing pistachio fashion to the office. So it’s only natural that we’re now indulging in pistachio perfumes too.
You may be wondering: what does pistachio smell like? While it might not have the most obvious aroma as a food, it works beautifully as a perfume note. Deliciously warm, it’s characterised by a more-ish nutty and creamy fragrance with a subtle buttery undertone.
Emmanuelle Moeglin, founder of Experimental Perfume Club describes it as multi-faceted. “It offers a unique gourmand quality that isn’t overtly sweet like traditional notes such as vanilla or caramel,” she says. Rather than being sugary, "pistachio brings a more nuanced, subtle sweetness".
Not only is it utterly irresistible, pistachio also has a comforting aroma. Think of summers spent in the sun, savoring the sweet taste of sticky baklava or a nutty gelato. Emmanuelle tells us, “We’re seeing a real shift toward fragrances that feel comforting and mood-boosting—scents that wrap around you like a soft blanket but still feel sophisticated. Pistachio taps into that craving.”
Just because the scent is indulgent doesn’t mean the price has to be. Yes, there are some wonderful premium perfumes that are worth the splurge, but there are some very affordable iterations too. From Marks & Spencer’s own take on the trend to the sought-after Sol De Janeiro body spray, we’ve rounded up the best fragrances with pistachio notes that you can shop now - starting from just £7!
