While other stars have been reaching for the scissors and taking the short cut, Eva Longoria is going to greater lengths than ever. Her hairdresser has just shared stunning new imagery from Eva’s latest cover shoot and it’s not just your typical magazine makeover. Let’s just say that the last time we saw a woman posing on a rock with hair this long, it was Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’.
In a series of beautiful photographs shot for the summer issue of Byrdie, Eva can be seen against a seaside backdrop with ultra-long hair in a fishtail braid that falls down to her thighs. There’s only one word for it: goddess.
Hairstylist Justine Marjan captions the post: ‘the chokehold that braid has on me 😍 gorgeous @evalongoria for @byrdie’s cover shoot ‼️ #justinemarjanhair’
Justine has also shared a behind-the-scenes video, showing what was clearly a busy shoot day with multiple style switch-ups for the Desperate Housewives star. As well as the thigh-skimming braid, Eva can also be seen with loose mermaid waves and a sleek bun undo. Definitely a day of ups and downs.
Eva herself has jumped on to Justine’s video post, commenting Loooove this!, while fellow celebrity hairstylist Glen Coco Oropeza sums it up with a word: I N C H E S 🔥🔥🔥
In the shoot’s accompanying interview, Eva shares her thoughts on turning 50 earlier this year and discusses how getting older is changing her mindset on life. She explains: ‘Now that I’m 50, I’m prioritising differently. I’m curating my life to be very specific to what I want the next 50 years to look like.’
Wellness is top of that priority list, rather obsessing about wrinkles. Eva adds: ‘I’m grateful to be able to move my body and work out, hike up a mountain, and play with my son.’
Being one of the L’Oréal Paris ‘worth it’ ambassadors undoubtedly helps in her quest to age well. As well as being a dedicated user of the brand’s grey-covering hair dye and its skin-plumping hyaluronic acid range, she’s making good use of its anti-ageing makeup range as well.
The actress has been walking the red carpet for L’Oréal Paris this week at the Cannes Film Festival, and the brand’s global makeup director Harold James has shared the exact products he used to create Eva’s camera-ready look.
He prepped her skin with Age Perfect Le Duo Serum then added Lumi Glotion for radiance. The long-lasting base came courtesy of Infallible Skin Ink, tag-teamed with True Match Radiant Concealer.
Her shimmery smokey eye was created with Le Shadow Stick in Magnetic Bronze and Foiled Copper, while Paradise Big Deal Mascara Waterproof ensured dramatic but smudge-proof lashes. Superstar looks on a very normal budget.
