Our favourite silver fox, George Clooney, has long been known for his signature salt-and-pepper locks and stubble. So his recent appearance in New York, sporting a dark dye job instead of his usual grey hair, has definitely taken fans by surprise.

George’s new hair has created quite the storm on social media, with fans sharing their distaste for his new look.

The dramatic transformation was not made by choice, but rather for his role in the Broadway adaptation of Good Night, And Good Luck. George himself has even addressed the new look, admitting in an interview with CBS Mornings, ‘I know it’s not good, you never get used to it.’

Many of us can relate to a dramatic hair transformation that leaves you barely recognising yourself. As George shared: ‘I started going grey when I was 25, so I’ve been grey most of my life. Nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair.’

It seems George isn’t the only one with strong opinions about his new locks; it’s safe to say his family have found it quite amusing. He shared: ‘My wife thinks it’s funny,’ and added that his children ‘laugh at it’.

However, there’s an unexpected silver lining (pun intended). In an interview with CNN, George shared, ‘The only good news is I can walk the streets of New York and people don’t recognise me.’

While George may not be thrilled with his ‘awful’ new hair colour, at least he’s getting a good laugh out of it and the unexpected bonus of being unrecognisable to fans. And perhaps there’s a good lesson here: embrace the grey – we do love a silver fox, after all!
