Sonia Hully, founder of Nailberry, revealed to Byrdie UK that it’s all down to using the right cuticle oil after a manicure, as these penetrate the skin and help to strengthen weak nail plates.
And it turns out, only old cuticle oil won’t do. In fact, you should be searching for specific ingredients.
She explained, ‘Look for oils rich in nutrients that quickly absorb into the skin. Sweet almond is really reparative and doesn’t have a greasy feel, and vitamins A, E, B1, B2 and B6 are great hydrators.’
