I have to admit two things: I am not a cat owner and I am not a fan of the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That. Don't get me wrong; I want to be both of those things, but until I find the world's cutest kitten or the show miraculously becomes better, it's just not in the cards for me. However, like most crazed fans of the original series, I am hate-watching the reboot—mostly for glimpses of Carrie's cat, which, for reasons I do not understand, is named Shoe. In the third episode of the third season, which aired last night, we see Carrie and Miranda assembling perhaps the most beautiful cat tree ever known to man. It appears to be from the brand Mau, which, to our delight, is on Amazon!

As is to be expected, Carrie's cat tree is neither ugly nor cheap, so if you aren't prepared to shell out $400 for one, you may have to just admire it from afar. Otherwise, prepare for this six-foot cat tree to become the most gorgeous piece of furniture in your home.

Unlike most cat trees, which look like they are upholstered in 1980s-era carpeting, the Mau one is made of rope (ideal for scratching) and wicker (ideal for napping). Each scallop-edged basket can support a cat weighing up to 17 pounds (as a dog person, I did not have context to that weight capacity, but apparently, the average house cat weighs between eight and 11 pounds), and can handle some wear and tear, so if your Shoe likes to paw and scratch, you aren't throwing your money away by buying this Mau tree. It will hold up for a long time. What's more, the baskets are replaceable, so if you have a particularly rough kitty, you can replace a torn-up basket whenever you need. One reviewer added, "Not only will this cat tree last like 30 years, but the baskets and the parts are replaceable. The company is one of the best in the business as [far as] I can see."

Admittedly, this is a particularly pricey cat tree, so if you like the look of it and want to opt for something similar and cheaper, we've got you covered. Shop attractive alternatives below.
