Certain months may be astrologically destined for greatness.
We all know people who are natural powerhouses, but did you know that one of the reasons for this may be their birth month? Astrology suggests that birth month, along with birth time and location, corresponds with several traits we associate with power, from spiritual strength to prosperity, intelligence, leadership and influence.
To learn about the most powerful birth months, we spoke with Eliza Robertson, an astrologer from the viral astrology app CHANI and co-host of the Down to Astro podcast. Roberston says that while it’s important to consider a person’s entire birth chart to get a clear sense of their strengths, there are a few Sun signs and corresponding birth months that may be more likely to produce successful and dominant individuals. Read on to see if, according to the stars, your birth month may be one of the most powerful of the year.
January
People born between January 1 and 22 are Capricorns, who Robertson says are a powerful set due to their ambition and hardworking nature. Their diligence makes them a force to be reckoned with because they set high standards and goals and don’t stop until they achieve them. "This is less about overnight success and more about putting in your time, gaining expertise, and letting that pay off," Robertson explains.
Another source of power for those born during the first weeks of January is their natural leadership ability. Robertson says that people instinctively look to Capricorns for direction because they’re "often the most competent people in the room" and have "a natural air of seriousness and authority, which other people respect."
April
Those born between April 1 to April 22 are Aries, go-getters whose power comes from their willingness to be trailblazers. Rather than wait around for permission, they are "happy to be the first to try or do something, even if it means they often build the plane as they fly it," says Robertson. "This is an 'act first, think later' sign, and their instincts are spot on."
Another benefit for Aries is that the Sun is exalted during this season. That means those born during this period are better equipped to "rise to prominent positions" and "find ease and recognition when they’re pursuing their life purpose." The only drawback? Aries can "get a little testy if others aren’t keeping up with their pace," Robertson notes.
June
Geminis born during this month have birthdays between June 1 to June 22, and their superpower lies in their advanced communications skills that allow them to sell anything to anyone. Geminis are funny and "know how to communicate in a way that grabs attention," says Robertson. They are also smart, curious, and fast learners.
Robertson adds that given their strengths, Geminis are especially suited to shine in the digital age. "This is a sign that is skillful and playful in digital spaces, easily gaining a following online," she explains. In a world where online influence can hold a great deal of power, there is plenty of potential for Geminis to rise above their peers, says Robertson.

August
Many August babies are born under the Leo Sun sign, which falls between August 1 to August 22. According to Robertson, Leos have powerful personalities that come across as both confident and charismatic, and this makes them natural leaders. "Their warmth is magnetic, and they can draw people to them without even trying," she explains. "That’s one reason they’re often found at the center of attention — people just fall into their orbit."
The Sun rules the Leo zodiac sign, and so in addition to easily attracting attention, Leos are also able to perform well under the spotlight. "They have all the inner qualities they need to take charge and shine in a way that people notice," says Robertson. Any leadership roles that Leos initially gain through their charms are ultimately likely to be well executed and impressive to others.
December
December contains two powerful zodiac signs: Sagittarius between December 1 and December 22, and Capricorn between December 23 and 31 (who share traits with the January birthdays listed above).
For Sagittarians born during the first weeks of December, power takes on a very adventurous and upbeat flavor. Robertson says that these people "have expansive visions for what they want to accomplish — whether that’s traveling the world or experiencing as much as they can." They’re likely to succeed in these bold undertakings, since, similar to Leo and Aries people, they "have a little extra luck on their side when it comes to pursuing their mission." This is due to the Sun feeling at home in this fire sign.
Additionally, Sagittarians tend to be outspoken, which can help advance their causes. "When a Sagittarius has a message, they aren’t shy about sharing it," says Robertson, noting that they are able to share these messages powerfully and effectively. "Even if not everyone appreciates the sermon," those born during this month insist on being heard.
