Memorial Day sales are officially in full swing. Perhaps the most exciting deals happening this weekend? Apple AirPods are seeing discounts as high as $70 off. Walmart and Amazon's Memorial Day sales include all-time-low prices on AirPods, including the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max. If you've ever shopped for AirPods, you'll know how rare it is to find them on sale for more than a few percentage points off — so it's smart to grab them now while some models are north of 20% off.
We're seeing deals on almost all of Apple's headphone options, from the top-of-the-line over-ear AirPods Max to the more budget-friendly 2nd Generation AirPods. It's also exciting to see some of the brand's latest releases, like the AirPods (3rd Generation), be included in the discounts since it's rare Apple drops prices on their newest devices. In the past when AirPods have dropped to prices this low, they've sold out quickly, so act fast to snag the true wireless earbuds or headphones.
Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation)
Our pick for the best overall Apple AirPods, these true wireless earbuds feature noise cancellation, as well as different-sized silicone tips to give them a more secure fit in your ear. The earbuds are water-resistant, so they should be safe on rainy days. On top of a new and improved design, this second-generation model has improved audio quality with rich clarity as well as a longer battery life, thanks to Apple’s H2 chip.
If you're shopping for AirPods on a tighter budget, the 2nd generation AirPods are the best bang for your buck. Emma Seymour, a senior analyst at the GH Institute says: "They are great quality earbuds and are pretty affordable compared to other brands ... I have had the same pair for multiple years and they have stayed in great condition!" Note that the battery life is shorter compared to the Pro model (5 hours of listening, 24 total with the charging case).
Apple AirPods (3rd Generation)
The 3rd generation AirPods are a better choice than the 2nd generation when it comes to gym earbuds since they're sweat and water-resistant. They also feature an open-ear design, which means they won't isolate sound as effectively as the AirPods Pro or over-ear headphones, but they do let you stay aware of your surroundings. When streaming music, our testers found the sound to be crisp and clear with rich bass.
These AirPods are showing a modest $10 discount (down from $169), but that's no surprise considering they're the latest AirPods update and Apple rarely drops prices on its newest gadgets.
