When setting up your smart home, you might as well start at the front door. A doorbell camera can give you peace of mind when you want to check who's at your front door, make sure packages were delivered or even two-way talk with whoever is outside. And, if you want to go beyond smart video doorbells there are smart home security cameras on the market that give you added safety and access to your property while you're away.

One of the big names in the video doorbell market is Ring. And, in exciting news, Ring cameras will be up to 30% off on Amazon from now until April 12, making the innovative home products more affordable. The Good Housekeeping Institute named the Ring Video Doorbell 4 the best wireless doorbell camera of 2023 because it is easy to install and has superb picture quality. Ring also makes great home security cameras for interior views, which are great for checking on little ones after bedtime. The cameras are versatile, reliable and integrate easily into your smart home ecosystem. Plus, they're compatible with Amazon Alexa for voice control.

If you've been waiting to upgrade your home security, this Amazon sale on Ring cameras is a great time to buy. We've rounded up our favorite models from the sale to help you decide which Ring camera is best.

The Ring Video Doorbell has a rechargeable battery but can also be wired into your existing doorbell connection. "I always come back to the easy setup, sleek, intuitive design and competitive price point. Especially if this is your first video doorbell, the 2nd generation Ring is an excellent way to smarten up your front door without overspending,” says Dan DiClerico, the Home Improvement and Outdoor Director for the GH Institute.

The Video Doorbell 3 is a general upgrade from the Ring Video Doorbell. It offers a dual-band WiFi connection and improved motion detection. Similar to older models, it's powered either by the rechargeable battery or by your existing wire connection. You'll be able to hear and speak to whoever is at the door and can access Ring footage right from your phone, no matter where you are.

This model is a bigger upgrade from the standard Ring Video Doorbell. It offers higher quality video (1536p HD+ Video that Ring calls "Head to Toe" for a full view) and features 3D motion detection. The Video Doorbell Pro 2 has to be hardwired into your doorbell system and doesn't offer a battery option, but the smart home device comes with the wiring kit you'll need to get set up.
