When will Labor Day deals officially start?
Labor Day falls on Monday, September 1, this year, which means that the three-day weekend kicks off Saturday, August 30. In addition to recognizing the contributions of American workers, Labor Day also tends to be a great time to shop end-of-season sales on everything from grills and patio furniture to appliances, mattresses, and more.
Where can we expect the best Labor Day sales?
According to experts, Labor Day weekend is one of the best times of the year to save on big-ticket purchases like mattresses, furniture and appliances. Retailers and direct-to-consumer brands typically drop prices on their best-selling items during (and in some cases, before) the holiday weekend.
This year, we are beginning to see steep discounts across almost all shopping categories, plus rare end-of-season finds from cult-favorite brands like Lululemon. That includes big season-ending discounts on outdoor furniture and grills — like Wayfair's outdoor furniture sale.
While most official Labor Day sales will kick off closer to the holiday, you can still find competitive deals leading up to the long weekend. Be sure to check back as we add more and more valuable sale items as we see them.
