With rising housing costs, the tiny home movement continues to gain momentum. ADUs (accessory dwelling units) or tiny homes can be a more affordable way to add square footage on your property—whether it's a backyard pool house, charming guest house, or granny pod for aging relatives.

As a home editor, I'm always browsing Amazon for tiny homes (our readers can't get enough of them), but this spacious prefab home, which is currently $2,000 off the regular asking price, might be my favorite. I can't stop dreaming up possibilities for this luxurious structure: a relaxing vacation house (picture it on a small beachside or mountain property), additional space in the backyard for a growing family, or a modern rental unit for additional income.

    Prefab 2-Bedroom House

This prefab container house, which includes on-site installation, has features that go beyond the norm (this isn't Amazon's typical backyard shed). When expanded, the structure offers an impressive 369 square feet of living space, including two bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen area, and a bathroom with a shower.

Enjoy a surge of natural light through several large windows and the striking glass entrance door. The black steel frames and dark wood-grain steel plates on the exterior give the structure a modern appeal. Inside, the flooring consists of wood boards and PVC.

You'll have to do a few things to spruce up the space once installed, like painting the walls and furnishing the place, but the hardest parts are done for you. There are L-shaped cabinets in the kitchen, a water heater, and prefabricated American standard electrical and plumbing systems.

The main structure is made of a sturdy steel frame, which the brand says ensures the stability and safety of the foldable house. The house has an AAA fire rating, a wind resistance rating of 15, and an earthquake resistance rating of 13.

ADUs continue to rise in popularity (detached structures can increase your home's value), and the options are truly endless. With a crane, you can live wherever you want—yes, it's possible to move this tiny home after the initial installation.
